A Family Affair: Utilising combined knowledge and skills to create a business centred around delivering the most creative, engaging, relatable first aid and ocean safety experiences possible. Our goal is to provide a safe and encouraging environment for learning life-saving skills that you can carry with you in case the need ever arises.
What is our Mission?
Our mission is to create courses that are not boring classrooms focused solely on PowerPoint, but to create practical assessment activities to make learning fun, relatable, and educational. No long-drawn-out explanations, but an open classroom to ask questions, and to have hands-on experience with scenario-based training, including role play and playing with equipment. Our true mission is to take these essential skills and teach them in several learning styles to suit all types of learners: visual, interactive. There are always seats at the back of the classroom if observation is your style! Come join us not just because your boss told you to, but for an educational experience.

Katie Hookings
With over 15 years of beach lifeguarding experience, Katie has committed herself to ensuring safety and effective response in challenging situations. Her UK background includes first responder roles, equipping her with valuable skills for immediate assistance. As a seasoned trainer in first aid and ocean safety, she has extended expertise to nurture others in these vital skills.
She has been working with Surfing NSW delivering the course "surfers rescue 24/7", a government funded scheme to provide surfers with first responder techniques, in the water and on the land.
Fuelled by a deep passion for education, her mission centres on delivering engaging and entertaining learning experiences, not just information. "I firmly believe in the impact of relatable and fun in first aid training, making education accessible and enjoyable for everyone".

Blake Whittaker
Presently, Blake works as a Training Delivery Officer for the NSW State Emergency Service, whilst managing this family business. With a wealth of experience spanning over 16 years, Blake has been instrumental in teaching ocean safety programs in Australia and the UK. His roles as Surf School and Programs Manager with Surfing Australia, coupled with his membership in the Australian Water Safety Council, reflects his unwavering dedication to sports development, coaching, and ensuring the safety of the Australian community.
Blake is recognised for his specialisation in crafting distinctive programs that not only provide participants with an enjoyable and engaging experience but also offer practical, hands-on learning opportunities. As a cornerstone of the business, Blake's multifaceted role as a manager, trainer, and father stands as a testament to his enduring passion for the safety and well-being of individuals.
